Welcome to the AYSO Region 440 website

Region 440 is a part of the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO). The Region serves about 450 boys and girls from ages 4 to 19 in the communities of Catons Chapel, Gatlinburg, New Center, Kodak, Pigeon Forge,Wears Valley, Pittman Center and Sevierville, in Sevier County, Tennessee. Everyone plays at least half the game in AYSO! That's what kids really like about our soccer program.

Except for a few people at the National Service and Training Center in California, AYSO is a completely volunteer organization. That includes our Board of Directors, Coaches, Referees and other support people. Our "pay" is the smile on kid's faces
.

This past season we have been able to hold some training classes and have been lucky enough to have volunteers attend these classes and go on to become Referees and Coaches. We are very lucky to have some many people stepping up to volunteer and with more volunteers it makes for a more successful program. It's so great to have people come up and say, "I want to be a referee or a coach what do I have to do?" All you have to do is let us know you want to help and be a part of this great organization and we'll get you started by signing a volunteer form which gives you insurance coverage.

Even if you can just come forward at the games and hold a flag on the side lines to help the center ref this means so much to keep the program going. To help on the sideline all you need do is let the REF know what color the ball went out on. He will then call the color to throw in. It's a pretty simple thing to do. Plus you get to watch your child play the game from the side line with no one standing in front of you. What a better spot to watch the game from.

Please parents we need you to step up. Actually, it's YOUR CHILD THAT NEEDS YOU.

We always need people to volunteer to help as a coach, referee, register players, distribute uniforms, put together coaches and referee packets. Set up picture day, return phone calls. Train other volunteers. The list is enless.

Please do it for your child. If you don't, and they don't who will? Then who will explain it to your child when there is NO SOCCER. VOLUNTEER!

If you'd like to get involved or have questions, please call Jerry or June Douglass at 429-2976 or email us from our contact page.

Spectator Conduct

AYSO's philosophies are intended to give young people an opportunity to play soccer in a fun and positive environment. We concentrate on fun and not on win/loss records. Your positive comments ("Good kick, John!" "Nice throw in, Mary!") towards players AND referees and coaches contribute to that environment. Good sportsmanship and positive coaching are expected from everyone. We think you'll be pleased with the atmosphere at AYSO soccer games. Pets are not allowed at any AYSO games or practices. Drugs, alcohol or tobacco is not premitted. Unsportsman like conduct is not premitted. Should this happen a Referee or Board member will ask you to leave the fields. Don't embarasse your child. Make them proud. be  model parent.
